Always a worry for management when playing a lower division team in the cup, and this game provided rationale for that cautious approach. After starting the game well and SmithY & Tez boon started to run the game from the centre of midfield, we began to cruise through the first half, and we went onto score 4, but the opposition took advantage of some slack play and also scored twice.
The second half started well and we scored another and missed several chances to kill the game off. Our opposition then scored again and created a tense last 10mins of the game. The instructions from the side lines was to keep possession, play intelligently, however Greenie thought different and rather than clear his lines with the forward still 5 yards away, he decided to wait and try and take him on. The forward pinched the ball and scored a forth. There was only 2mins left and the opposition immediately attacked and pushed up very high, but we counter attacked and when Bass went through into their half all on his own, we expected to wrap the game up, however the ref blew for offside and the end of the game.
