Tintwistle Seconds 3-2 Mellor Thirds

It was a day to forget as Tintwistle beat us for the first time in 6 attempts in L&C league matches.
We grabbed a really early goal, Chris Barlow linking up with Ian Arnfield and smashing home from the edge of the box inside 2 minutes. After our bright start we really failed to get out of second gear and fell behind, trailing 2-1 at half time.
We rallied in the second half and looked the stronger team for large parts of the half. Ian Arnfield got us back into the game with a goal on 63 minutes.
With less than 5 minutes to go a rash tackle on the edge of the box gave Tintwistle the chance to snatch the win, which they gladly took, smashing the free kick into the top corner and taking home all three points.
A really disappointing day up in rainy Glossop for the thirds. Next up is a tough away match against league leaders Chorltonians who we knocked out of the cup a few weeks back.
